Happy Patio

One of my favorite things about Spring and Summer is the transition into all of the bright colors. This patio design makes me want to make a nice cool glass of raspberry lemonade, pull out a good book and go out and soak up some sun. These things just make me happy!

Modern/Classic Living Room

What stands out to you in this design? Every room should have some element that when you walk in immediately grabs your attention. For me, in this design, it is the chandelier. I love it! It stands out and is center stage. A simple, neutral room can pack quite a punch with a focal point like this one.

Longbourough Blue Bathroom

Everybody has their favorite color combinations. As a decorator, it is my job to take those color combos and put them together in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. This design uses different shades of blues and greens to create a traditional, relaxing bathroom design where residents and guests can cleanup and unwind each day.

Missy’s Home

A friend of mine recently decided that since her family has made the decision to stay in their current home for a while longer, she would like to decorate it. She asked if I could come up with some designs to get her started. Here are her before pictures:

These are the design boards that I created for her followed by links to where she can purchase anything pictured in the design and a description of where to put things:

Entry

This design is for your entry. I felt like a white console would stand out against your paint color and help brighten everything up. The blue and white rug would go in the entry and introduces the color scheme for your home. I would recommend getting the largest size that would fit, because you have such a large entry area. I think a natural wood round mirror above the console would look cute and reflect the wall décor across from it. I would put a pretty lamp, pink candle and a large vase with greenery on the table. You could get natural wicker baskets to place below the table and style them with a pink and white throw blanket. On the wall opposite the console, I would purchase white frames with white mats to frame family/ special pictures, etc. I think that you should get six larger frames that are all the same size and do two rows of three.

Family Room

Your family room would carry the same colors but adding a darker blue. The rug that I chose pulls this color and grounds the room. If you have the space, I would add a darker gray/blue chair (or two) and the gray/brown wood coffee table. You could style the coffee table with pink florals and coffee table books or magazines. The cute little blue table would go on the wall by the hallway. It would be adorable to do some floating shelves above that table with some fun décor, or a large white clock (like I have pictured). Style the couch and chair with throw pillows and a throw blanket. There isn’t a lot of room for decorations on your mantle because of the placement of the TV. I think that I would just leave it empty or find a cute welcome sign that is just the right size to stand up and fit in that space.

Dining

Next, we move into your kitchen. I chose another coordinating rug that I would place under the table. Again, rugs just really ground the room and pull everything together. This table is a gray wood from Pottery Barn. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I would put some cute white chairs with the table and a gray tufted dining chair on each end for a more formal/ finished look. A pretty table runner with a cute table setting and greenery or florals on the table is how I would style this area. You could hang some coordinating artwork on the wall behind the table, next to the cabinets.

Master Bedroom

The rug I chose for your bedroom is more of a bluish gray and white. I would get some nice white sheets and bedding and then layer a textured blue quilt at the foot of your bed with a pink textured blanket over that. I would also style your bed with two larger pink throw pillows and an oblong white and blue throw pillow in front of the pink ones. I would add pretty, white lamps on your nightstands and a white chair in the corner (if there is room). I would hang three white frames above your bed with pretty botanicals that pull the pink, blue and gray colors. To finish everything off, I would add a large vase with pink eucalyptus to style the dresser. I didn’t put this in my design, but it would also be very pretty to lean a large, white mirror against the wall by the bathroom.

Kamran Hazel Living Room

Putting together a design is like a puzzle to me. I love how each piece fits together to paint the perfect picture. Notice how the canvas artwork in this design has little hints of gray and camel color tones the pull everything together to create a restful, inviting room.

Velvet and Gold Kitchen

This is what kitchen dreams are made of. I love the combination of gold, black and white with touches of glass and velvet. This makes for a classy, yet comfortable kitchen that welcomes guests and great food!

Seaglass Spring Entry

You might notice that many of the items in this design are quite expensive. The idea for all of my designs is to help give you an idea of colors, textures and styles that look good together. Once you have an idea of what those things are, shop around and find items that are similar but within your budget. Happy Shopping!
